Joeys 2008 Report
May 9, 2009JOEY LEADER REPORT. CYNTHIA LEUNG

Our Joey Scouts had a fantastic year in 2008. Firstly, we saw the very-welcome return of our most experienced and fun-loving scout Leader, Toni-Lee Game. Her return with her wealth of knowledge in various areas has made life much easier for us, especially since our Joey membership numbers doubled in 2008! More importantly, it also meant that Barbara Clark, our dedicated Assistant Group Leader, could slowly have more time for her family and not be required to attend our meetings. Thanks Barbara for all your efforts
Secondly, Joeys were kept very busy with our various activities including participating in the Sydney North Regional Joey Zoo Day in May and the Campfire in September. We participated in the Group’s 100 Year Scouting Celebrations, local ANZAC March, visited the Veterinary Hospital in Crows Nest, held our own mini-Olympics and learnt about the importance of our senses, among many other acquired skills.
Our Joey Mob activities earned our invested members several Achievement badges that comprised the Care and Share, Their Service Our Heritage and the Environment badges. A couple of our more enthusiastic members, Alex Soong and Daniel Hammond, went on and earned themselves a Promise Challenge badge and Certificate. The latter is the highest award for a Joey Scout. Well done boys!
We had a busy year in 2008, and look forward to an equally adventurous new year.
